Cbslocal.com chief meteorologist, Larry Mowry, recalled the hail storm that hit Dallas on June 13, 2012 on its first anniversary this year. With an estimated damage of $901 million, the hail storm was seen as the 4th costliest in Texas. All throughout the city, cars were wrecked, windows were shattered, and not a few skylights were smashed through. In a hail storm, the most vulnerable part of any structure, whether residential or commercial, is the roof. The hail storm that hit Dallas last year also took a swipe at areas in Irving where baseball-sized hail battered buildings, dented cars, broke through windshields and glass windows, and pelted everything in sight.
